Mulberry Hill by The Lodge

The location has a great view and lots of room for me and my kids to play football and have fun. We had a lot of fun barbecuing at night, even though we were the only visitors in the glamping area on that weekday. The room was pretty clean, but when we first entered it smelled a bit mushy and wet, so it needs more fragrance for new arrivals. The glamping was comfortable, and we had a very pleasant family stay at Mulberry. Service was 3/5, with very few staff around during the weekday. Rooms were 4/5 and location was 5/5. We enjoyed our stay and hope the resort improves its service and cleanliness.

The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced. We stayed in a Cottage, which had plenty of space and a big, fairly clean bed. There’s no air conditioner, but nights are cold enough that we didn’t need one. The hot water barely got warmer than regular water.

There’s a lot to choose from here, from cottages and villas to glamping, camping, and camper vans. The cooler weather, around 15 Celsius, was a welcome break from Jakarta, and the views are lovely. We also enjoyed the food, especially the local dishes, and there are activities like ATV rides, archery, paintball, trekking, and a lotus garden. Our stay was still pleasant, though the season may have been a factor in some problems. House flies swarmed during the day and winged termites came out at night, which made eating difficult. Most of the lodging we booked had no working hot water, so we had cold showers. The lotus garden also looked neglected and didn’t meet our expectations. Maybe COVID contributed to some of these issues.

The cottage was nice, and the staff were great. They even drove us for free to the nearby Maribaya Natural Hot Spring Resort, though we gave them a tip. The jacuzzi is worth trying too. Getting there was the downside: the roads were awful and the trip from Bandung took around 1,5 hours. Still, it’s definitely worth a visit and cheap for Europeans.
