Bali Nusa Cottage

We wanted somewhere quieter, away from the busy areas, and this place suited us well. It’s near Mushroom Beach and within walking distance of plenty of restaurants. The staff were kind and hardworking, kept the room clean, and were always tidying around the property. The pool was great, and the balcony view with all the birds was lovely. You can also rent their scooters for a very good price. It’s not a luxurious five-star hotel, but it felt welcoming and homey.

The garden and pool are spotless, and the staff are wonderfully sweet and ready to help with anything. Rooms are decent, though on the small side. The shower has salty water and poor pressure, but at least the hot water worked well. There’s visible garbage from the balcony, so I wouldn’t bother booking a top room for the view. It’s a pleasant enough stay if you’re not expecting luxury.

After a day out on the island, it’s a quiet place to return to, and the staff are professional, kind, speak English, and clean the rooms every day. It’s an easy walk to Mushroom Beach and the main road, with shops, an ATM, and restaurants nearby. The rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds, a large wardrobe, a very cold mini fridge, blackout curtains, and a small balcony with seats where you can relax or dry clothes. The pool is clean and good for families with kids. It’s a simple, adequate three-star hotel, and I’d recommend Bali Nusa if you’re on a budget. There’s breakfast but no lunch or dinner restaurant. Breakfast is cheap for the island, though extremely basic, just toast and watered-down juice. I was also disappointed that the bathroom wasn’t Balinese-style and outdoors, as I’d been looking forward to an open-air shower.

We really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The pool and garden were clean and quiet, and the room was comfortable with good AC. The staff were warm and friendly, and we rented scooters from them that worked great. It’s just two minutes from the beach. A place to refill water would be useful. It wasn’t five-star luxury, but I had a great time there.
