The huts are cozy and charming, with a real hut-on-the-beach feel. Hearing the waves and being right by the sand made the stay unforgettable. The whole place has a relaxed island atmosphere, with a small scale and easy access to beaches and local cafés. Staff were consistently friendly and attentive, from meeting us at the port to arranging scooter hire and suggesting local spots. Dream Beach Huts sits right on Dream Beach, with sweeping ocean views, two beautiful infinity pools, and a poolside restaurant and bar where we could relax with cocktails and watch the sunset. The beachfront setting and views really stood out. A few things to know: the hotel is rustic, and some huts are small, with steep stairs, outdoor bathrooms and limited storage. That’s part of the charm, though it may not suit everyone. It can feel basic if you’re used to large resort rooms or very modern amenities. The current at Dream Beach is strong, so swimming there may not always be ideal, and guests often used the pool instead.

We had fresh, delicious Mie Goreng and Mango juice, and the view was stunning. For such an amazing location, the price was still very reasonable. I paid by card and was accidentally overcharged. When I came back the next day, they’d already noticed, worked out where I was staying so they could return the extra money, and had the cash ready for me to collect. Such honest, lovely people!

Great food, especially the Fruit Smoothie Bowl, and a clean room with friendly staff. The view was the best in Nusa Lembogan. We arrived by ferry at Mushroom Bay, and the hotel arranged a pick-up.

The sea views are mesmerizing, but that has nothing to do with the hotel. The photos made the place look much nicer than it was. Everything seemed dated, poorly maintained and cheaply built. The standard hut was tiny and not very clean. There were smudges on the mosquito net and towels. The shower only gave enough hot water for a few minutes, so we had to shower together or wait around an hour for the next shower. There was no hand soap, and the other shower products smelled awful, so bring your own. The infinity pool was alright, but the nearby toilet was one of the most disgusting we encountered on our trip. Breakfast was very basic and didn’t make for a great start to the day. You could order from the restaurant downstairs and have it added to your room tab, payable at checkout. The next morning at breakfast, a staff member asked us to sign the restaurant bill from the day before. At checkout, the clerk disappeared for about 10 minutes, presumably to collect the bills and add everything up by hand. The whole process felt old fashioned and like a good example of how the hotel is run. There were more things that bothered us, but this gives you an idea of the stay.

We loved our stay at dream beach huts. We had a two-bedroom villa with our family, and my parents stayed in a deluxe hut. The villa didn’t have connecting doors between the rooms, which made me uncomfortable with the children sleeping separately. Adding doors seems like it would make it more family friendly. The beautiful open pools, beach access, lots of steps and open balcony railings at the restaurant mean you have to keep a close eye on young children. We watched ours carefully, but families considering this spot should know that. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8am, which felt late for us. It’s better suited to couples or families with older children, and the steps may also be difficult for anyone with mobility problems. The staff were very helpful. We accidentally left our pram at mushroom bay when we got off the ferry, and they went out of their way to find it. The location is secluded and beautiful, though the beach is rough with lots of reef, so it’s not as suitable for swimming or snorkeling. We liked the seclusion, and other lovely spots on the island aren’t too far by taxi.
