The basics were missing during our stay: no fresh towels, room cleaning, water, hand soap, or shampoo. The pool lights were broken, so we couldn’t swim in the evening. Checkout was at 10 am. It’s a 25-minute walk from the beach or 10 minutes by motorcycle. The owner kept trying to sell me things I hadn’t asked for, like tours and boat tickets. They don’t accept cards or QRIR payments. The motorcycle rental was above average at 150k per day. I rented one for three days, then at checkout realized I was 50k short because I needed the rest for port taxes. The guy nearly cried over the spare cash, and since he couldn’t take card or QR payments, I ended up giving him more than enough in another currency. The attitude felt greedy and arrogant. My partner and I were really upset and uncomfortable during our stay. I don’t recommend this place.

My wife and I spent four nights at Island Retreat Cottage and had a really nice time. Joe and his family were kind and helpful, which made everything comfortable and easy. It’s clean and quiet, a good place to relax on the island.

The best part of our stay was the service. The family who own this nice little hut were always nearby and ready to help, and it was lovely to get a greeting whenever we came back. They also arranged transport to and from the accommodation, so that was one less thing for us to sort out. Scooter hire on site made exploring the hilly island much easier. The hut is in a peaceful part of nusa lembongan and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. The infinity pool was clean and well maintained, with a gorgeous view of the island and ocean. We had a lovely stay and would highly recommend it.

Joe and his wife, Wayan, were wonderful hosts. They were always around to arrange tours, and had reliable scooters to rent on site for a very reasonable price. We stayed six nights in the beautiful hilltop setting. The cute cottages were clean, and the bed was really comfortable. It’s a short ride into the main tourist area. We’d definitely recommend Island Retreat Cottage.

Joe and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming, and the place itself was stunning. My partner and I had a wonderful three-night stay. It’s well placed for shops, the beach, and beach clubs, though there aren’t many shops on the island. You can hire a scooter or get a taxi, too. Thanks so much, Joe!
