Kastapar Bridge Guest House

I feel peaceful here. I saw places with DJ music, but this place is quiet. There’s a sea view from the swimming pool, and I like the location, near the port, yellow bridge, mart and places to eat. Recommended.

The owners also work as staff, and they were really sweet, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was great. It’s easy to motorbike anywhere on the island, there are amazing restaurants across the street, and access to the next island is just minutes away. The spot was gorgeous. Our room was beautiful, the bathroom clean and spacious, and the pool had an amazing view of the coast.

The estuary views are lovely, and the little pool was surprisingly clean. The room itself is basic, with no fridge, and the bathroom was dirty at first. They cleaned it after we complained, though we shouldn't have needed to ask. The door locks don't seem secure and the front gate is never locked. Breakfast is included but very basic. You'll probably need a scooter here. Just make sure you have an international licence under Indonesian law. Hire shops may tell you otherwise, but police do stop tourists, and riding without one can get you in trouble. Insurance may also refuse cover if you have an accident.

The room has a nice view, but the facilities were extremely basic for a place presented as a three-star hotel. Agoda's listing said there would be a coffee and tea maker and bottled water, but when we asked, we were told those things wouldn't be provided. There was no drinking water, coffee maker, soap or handwash, and the shower had no hot water. The bathroom was sandy and had salt water too.
