Lembongan Sanctuary Villas

The new building blocks what I think used to be a great sea view, and it leaves almost no privacy. People in that building can look over the pool, balcony, and most of the room. Neighbors can see into the living room and pool area through a big gap in the bamboo wall, and people upstairs can see me from their balcony. I didn’t feel safe. People, who I believe were hotel staff, sat right outside my window from evening until midnight. I could hear them talking, and they could hear me. They also came into my room while I was out to light the mosquito repellent. Maybe that’s part of their service, but I don’t think they should enter without permission during my stay. I slept badly and had to lock both the bedroom and toilet with keys so nobody could come in while I slept. The room didn’t feel secure and seemed easy to climb into. Getting my luggage there meant carrying it up 100 steps, and the road was in poor condition and felt dangerous too. The stay wasn’t worth what I paid.

We were lucky to get an upgrade for one night when a nicer villa became available, and they moved us at no extra charge. Gede welcomed us at reception, explained what we needed to know, and said to contact them if anything came up. We stayed three nights, though I wish we could’ve stayed longer. I can’t speak highly enough of the resort. It’s close to the beach, restaurants, beach clubs, lovely beaches, supermarkets, and pharmacies. Thanks to Janu for letting us stay in the beautiful upstairs apartment. We’ll definitely be back.

The staff were great with pickups and drop-offs, cleaning, and helping us arrange travel. The one-bedroom villa was clean and comfortable, and when we walked into the main villa, the full-wall view took our breath away. We’d recommend it to everyone. It’s worth every penny, and you won’t want to leave. We hope to stay again!

The view from the villas is a real plus, and the rooms themselves are amazing, with almost everything you need, even binoculars. But for the price, I don’t think it’s good value. The road there isn’t great, although transport is available. The villa is around 100 stairs down, and it’s about another 100 steps to get to restaurants. Service was only so-so. The receptionist served our welcome drink from a plastic water bottle that was so dirty I can’t explain it. There’s no other service, and no breakfast or food.
