The power went out three times a day, each time with the same explanation that they had run out of tokens. All three rooms we stayed in, 303, 304, and 307, were in terrible condition on June 9-10, 2025. The staff were awful from the receptionist onward. Their explanations were confusing, they came across as arrogant and not transparent, and the housekeeper even spoke rudely to guests. The clothing was inappropriate too, sorry to say. The bathrooms were left dirty and smelled bad. The floor, sink, and toilet were disgusting, slippery, and crusted over, with hair and discarded shampoo sachets around. There was mold and a musty smell on the walls and ceiling. The room floors were dusty, sticky, and filthy, with cockroaches and lots of hair. We tried to move to a cleaner room, but it was difficult and we were charged extra. The sheets and pillows had stains. We asked for replacements and got no response. The towels were more like doormats. Anyone going to Yogyakarta should avoid this hotel. The service, facilities, and system were unsatisfactory in every way.

The hotel doesn’t provide breakfast, and parking is quite limited, though security staff help you find a spot quickly. The location is very central, close to cafes, minimarts, restaurants, malls, and other public facilities. Check-in and check-out were fairly quick, and the security, front desk, and cleaning staff were all friendly. The building is old but maintained well. My room was spacious and had plenty of amenities, including a fridge, kettle, tea and coffee maker, TV, air conditioning, and sofa. The fridge was broken during my stay. The room was reasonably clean, but the gaps around the sofa and mattress and underneath the mattress could use more attention. It also felt damp and dim because there were few windows and the exhaust wasn’t adequate. I’d recommend it, since the facilities are in line with the price.
