Expressia Hotel Makassar

You get a nice view from the higher floors, and Pantai Losari, one of Makassar's famous spots, is nearby. A great place.

There are lots of food choices close by, though I haven't eaten at the hotel. I like staying in the room and relaxing without going far, and this is my regular first choice for an overnight visit to Makassar. The rooms are clean, the amenities are excellent, and the view is extraordinary.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bathroom was fantastic, with a great shower and enough hot water. Rooms are comfortable but small, and this is a no-frills hotel at mid-range prices. The sea view is amazing and worth paying extra for. For breakfast, skip the hotel option. There's a hotel across the road with a buffet at local prices, or you can go to a local cafe.

The ocean view from my room was spectacular, and the location is hard to beat, right across from Losari beach in the center of town. I was surprised after check-in, since my friend had told me about it and I expected a very small hotel. Breakfast was below standard, so I'd book without it. The hospitality was just okay. There's no room service, so once the restaurant closes, don't expect to get things like a spoon, fork, or plate.
