Marlah and George were such attentive, welcoming hosts. They also connected me with an excellent driver, and I needed their help since it was my first time in Makassar. The homestay itself is beautiful and quiet, yet close to all the waterfront activity. I hope to come back next year.

Marlah was amazingly friendly and helpful. She arranged a wonderful day tour for us, and her brother recommended the best coto Makassar we tried. She also helped us book tickets to Tana Toraja. Ge JacMart Homestay is well placed near Losari beach, with street food stalls and convenience stores within walking distance, as well as a beautiful 99 domed mosque. Our room was clean and comfy, and there's a shared balcony too. Thank you, Ibu Marlah!

We expected more from all the good reviews and ended up leaving early, after just one night. The hosts were warm and friendly, but their English was limited, which made it hard for us to understand each other or get recommendations for nearby restaurants. The small room was clean, with a large, very comfortable bed, good air conditioning, and a good bathroom. There were some mosquitoes, though, and the Wi-Fi was quite slow. The biggest issue for us was how much noise came through from inside the house and outside.

The room was spotless, the cleanest we've had in Indonesia, with strong AC, hot water, and everything in good condition. We only stayed one night during our Sulawesi trip, but loved the spacious villa-like house and its lovely outdoor places to relax. The owners were incredibly kind and helpful. We don't speak Indonesian, but communicating in English was easy, and they gave us great restaurant tips. We arrived late at night and really appreciated the airport pick-up. Check-in was smooth, the key was ready, and there was no hassle. The location is convenient, about 30 minutes from the airport, with lots of restaurants nearby. Wi-Fi was fast. We missed breakfast, but it looked great. You can buy water, soft drinks, and beer on-site, which is handy, and we could arrange a late check-out that made onward travel much easier. A stress-free stay, and we'd absolutely return.
