OYO 1081 Allson City Hotel Makassar

My stay here was a really bad experience. I wouldn't book online, because the hotel only seems to honor the price it gives you directly. Even with a booking already paid for, the staff wouldn't let me check in without charging more than the amount shown in the app. I complained to Oyo customer service. They told me to pay the hotel's price and said Oyo would reimburse me, but I still hadn't received the money by checkout. The room was dirty, with lots of marks on the sheets. There was just one towel in the bathroom, no bathmat, and some rubbish was still in the bin. I hope I never have to stay here again.

The room was filthy, from the bedding and walls to the mirrors, which were so dirty you could barely see your reflection. The women's toilet near reception looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, with limescale and urine on the floor. There was rubbish and dirty plates all over the lobby when we arrived, left from the night before. Reception said Agoda had charged too little because of a technical error and wanted another 60k IDR. The staff member wouldn't contact Agoda themselves. We've stayed in loads of one-star hostels and homestays around Asia, and this was the dirtiest by far. I can't understand how anyone can live like this. We found another hotel and asked Agoda for a refund. I don't know what other reviewers are on about, this place is disgusting and doesn't deserve good reviews.

The first day after OYO took over was disappointing. The exhaust fan made an annoying sound, and there were no tissues, towel, toothbrush or shower gel. We had to wait until evening, but the next day they sorted out all our complaints. For the money, it's decent. The AC filter needs cleaning, though. I've stayed here three times, and each time I cleaned it myself to get better cooling.

There should be a zero-star rating, because this place doesn't deserve even one. The price doubled when we arrived after booking through Agoda. Rubbish was everywhere, and the glass, floors and bedding were so filthy that I doubt the place has had a cleaner in months, maybe years.
