OYO 492 Alden Hotel

Watch out for this place. It looks fancy from outside, but the cheaper rooms (we got a superior?! room) are tiny. The AC was weak, the washbasin was blocked, and there wasn’t any hot water. Noise from the neighboring rooms was another problem.

Just a standard room, and breakfast isn’t included. There was no towel, soap, or shampoo, and the toilet wasn’t in good shape. The water heater didn’t always work properly either.

For about 150 k rp a night, you get a good location, decent value, an elevator, towels, AC, hot water, and small bottles of drinking water. The staff are friendly and ready to help whenever needed.

AVOID this hotel, they ripped me off. When I arrived, they said there was no booking and charged me again for three nights. I had booked and paid through Expedia, and spent over an hour trying to call for support with proof of the booking and payment. Every time, I was told, “we are busy, try later.” After I got home, Expedia told me it had paid the hotel, so the hotel had received payment twice. When Expedia called to ask why I’d been charged twice, nobody at the hotel spoke English. I think they’re ripping off foreigners, so stay away if you don’t want to pay twice. Don’t book through Expedia. I sent three emails asking for help and still had no reply a week later. There was no customer support when I needed it. They said they’d refund what I paid at the hotel, so I’ve been overcharged and left out of pocket.
