I stayed here for three years in Makassar, and I’m still glad I chose it. The price feels fair for what’s included: furnished rooms, a balcony, a roomy parking yard, and a lovely garden to look at each morning. Pace Darius and Mas Oya were kind and quick to respond. It’s also close to Makassar’s industrial area and the airport.

Pondok 88 Paccerakkang was a great place to spend the night, and the amount I paid was well worth it. Mr. Darius runs it and was very welcoming and supportive. He told me he’s hosted people from overseas as well as local guests. His wife, Mrs. Corneliaty, was warm too. The building feels solid, with walls on all four sides that offer protection from unwanted attention outside. Inside, it’s comfortable and upscale for the area, and surprisingly quiet despite being close to Sultan Hasanuddin Airport. It’s a well-built lodge, among the best of its kind in Makassar. There are plenty of nearby places to eat and shop, including food stalls, warongs, Alfamarts, and Indomarts along either side of the road by the main gate. The local-made items mentioned here are free for guests. I’d recommend staying at Pondok 88 Paccerakkang if you need a good-value room after arriving in Makassar.
