Good value, with air-conditioned rooms and a central location. It's open around the clock, warungs are nearby, and tourist spots are only a few kilometers away.

The rooms and bathrooms are dirty, and the bathrooms are pretty basic. Still, for backpackers or anyone used to grimy hostels, this place could exceed expectations. I wouldn't suggest it for families or mid-range travelers, though I don't mind the grime and would happily stay another night. We paid 25k extra to check in early at 8 or 9 in the morning, after arriving on a night bus from Toraja. The room was about 60-70k. Wi-Fi was fast, the hot water worked, and the AC was very cold. There was free filtered water and a big, comfortable bed. Great vegetarian food and good bars are just around the corner, and the fort is a 10-minute walk away.

The staff were really friendly and did their best to help, even though they didn't speak English. They answered my questions and booked me a bus ticket to Rantepao.

After a 15-hour bus trip, I arrived around 11 p.m. to check in with a reservation, only to be told there were no rooms left. I had to find somewhere else in the middle of the night. It was a nightmare.

They confirmed the booking and took payment, then told me they'd double-booked the room and sent me elsewhere to sleep. Completely unprofessional.
