Clean and feels like home.

The room was roomy enough for two, but there were stains on the floor that looked like dirty water drops, as if it hadn't been mopped before I arrived. The bathroom was worse: the toilet water was foamy and smelled bad when I opened it, the shower looked either mossy or rusty, and the toilet glass was filthy. There was just a small bar of soap, no toothbrush or toothpaste. The blanket made my feet itch, so I had to wash it with soap several times before I could sleep. The service was the most disappointing part. I was told checkout was at 12, or 12:30 at the latest, yet the phone kept ringing a little after 11 as if I was being pushed to leave, with about 50 minutes still to go. A Netflix account was already connected, but I wasn't given its PIN. Logging out to use my own account felt risky because another guest might hack it, so I had no entertainment.

It's easy to find food here: just walk out the front and there are food stalls, restaurants, and other places to eat. The hotel is near the city center and malls, and inside it's clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bathroom was clean as well, and the TV is now a working smart TV. Towels, blankets, and sheets were clean, and everything else was provided. Just bring your own shampoo, and be ready for flat pillows.

What stood out for me was how helpful the receptionist was. She was really kind and easy to talk to, answered everything, and was quick to help when I messaged on WhatsApp. Wollangi Homestay also feels new and has a lovely, central location in Makassar. The lobby was cozy, clean, fragrant, and nicely designed. My room was spacious, spotless, smelled good, and had an eye-catching interior. There was a roomy wardrobe, soap, a toothbrush and towel, plus an Android TV for YouTube and Netflix. The bathroom could use a better scrub on the stained walls, though the water pressure and flow were great. I also noticed cars parked along the road sometimes, so a car parking area would help since the complex road is pretty narrow. I was very comfortable here and would definitely stay again if I'm back in Makassar.
