W Three Premier Hotel Lagaligo

Good value for a hotel in town. The receptionist could be more responsive.

I had a pleasant stay. Thank you.

The standard room was clean and quite spacious, and the rates were affordable for a hotel in a convenient part of Makassar. The staff were kind and helpful. I stayed for four days, but one service issue left me very disappointed. The receptionist called the day before checkout to say I'd be charged for a stain on the bedsheet, which was my menstrual blood. I agreed to pay, but asked to see written terms explaining when guests are charged for this kind of damage. On checkout day, that receptionist hadn't prepared anything. She showed me a photo of the stain and a check-in terms document, but it said nothing about charges for significant stains or property damage. I was then asked to wait about 45 minutes for housekeeping to confirm my request. That felt excessive, so I agreed to pay and asked for a proper receipt with a clear explanation. About 10 minutes later another staff member came over, apologized politely for the inconvenience, but still couldn't provide the written terms. They said some internal information wasn't available to guests and that hotels commonly charge for property damage. They also mentioned taking it to a "higher step," which was vague but sounded like an executive or legal process. I found it inappropriate to be threatened with that when I was only asking for written clarification about a charge I'd already agreed to pay.

The staff were friendly, and the hotel is affordable and centrally located, so you get what you pay for. Still, stains were everywhere, even on the bed linen. A gecko in our room was the best part. At checkout, they asked us to pay for drinks we hadn't had.
