Malang City Boulevard Homestay

A good, convenient location, and the room was fairly cozy. The staff were friendly, too. But some towels and the bed sheet were a bit dirty, and the bathroom was pretty dirty as well. Wi-Fi kept dropping, and the dorm room was a bit hot without air conditioning.

The location makes getting around easy, with Ijen street, Kawi street, Cyber Mall, Malang City Point, Loka Supermarket, Aurora movie theatre, Dieng movie theatre, SuperIndo supermarket, Elizabeth store, Saboten Japanese Restaurant, and plenty of food spots nearby. Just be aware that traffic in front of the homestay can get really busy on weekends if you’re going out then. It’s a homestay, though the feel is closer to a nice hotel. The staff start the day with warm smiles, and the place is clean with a pleasant atmosphere. Upstairs there’s a small snack bar with coffee and tea, plus an open-air terrace where you can smoke and enjoy Malang city's air. Smoking isn’t allowed in the room. My standard room was clean and had enough space, though it wasn’t as big as a hotel room. There was a flat-screen TV, air-conditioning, a cupboard with room for a small family, and tea and coffee condiments with a kettle. The bathroom was small, but the shower and wash areas were separate and comfortable enough.

A patient of mine from Japara needed daily injections for her illness, so she spent quite a few days resting at Malang City Boulevard Homestay. It was a nice place, with good food and friendly staff.

It’s a nice place, but there’s no breakfast service, and the restaurant is being renovated.
