The resort's setting is hard to beat. Kuda Laut Boutique Resort faces a lovely beach, with an easy stretch of reef to reach for snorkeling. We were later moved into a bungalow, and that made a big difference to how we felt about the place. I'd book one from the start next time. The three rooms in the main building would work better as one family suite, since they're clustered along a hallway and noise carries between them. Our first room there was cramped and enclosed, and the other guests nearby kept walking past and making it shake. They were very rude, and even after we asked management for help, we couldn't get proper rest. On a much nicer note, the resort made me a birthday cake, which I really appreciated. The meals, including breakfast, were acceptable but nothing special, and could be improved. We took a trip to the coral wall on the island opposite, which was incredible. I think it's called Pangalisan. I left this review pending after our April 2025 stay and only got to it now.

The diving in this area is beautiful, but the Kuda Laut Resort itself was a major letdown. It badly needs renovation, the rooms and furnishings feel careless and dull, and the food was average at best, often worse. The website photos don't show the real condition, and I found the 4.8 rating misleading. When we arrived, the beach was lined with white sandbags, presumably for erosion control, which made it look like a construction site. The staff were friendly, though service was basically absent. If you want to see a hotel with excellent service and outstanding food, Bunaken Oasis is just one island away and, to me, a genuine paradise that meets top international standards. Reviews depend on the standards people are used to, and I got the impression many reviewers here are accustomed to a very low level of hotel comfort.

The spot right by the water is lovely, and the staff are friendly. But the food was awful: greasy and overly spicy, with no vegetables, salad, or fresh fish, and mayonnaise on every toast. The previous good cook seems to have left, and the replacement isn't good. They don't have kayaks or canoes either. Crossing to shore takes only five minutes, but costs 29€ per person one way. For what you get, it's far too expensive.

The reefs are beautiful and right nearby. Don't skip the one in front of the resort beach, stretching up to the Jetty. The staff are experienced and great at helping with diving, snorkling, relaxing, food, and drinks.

Such a lovely escape on a quiet little island. The snorkeling and diving are fantastic, with the house reef just off the beach. It still feels untouched, but the western standards are high, and the beach cottages are beautiful. Meals were excellent, and since we had full board, I liked that lunch and dinner menus changed daily. Beer, cocktails, and wine were fairly priced. Service was great too. We asked about getting young coconuts, and the manager arranged them especially for us. The staff were so sweet, and the boutique resort is very well run. One of our best holidays, and I'd recommend it to anyone.
