The location is handy for two shopping malls and by the sea, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is sizeable, though it's best to go early for the widest choice. The restaurant was reasonably priced, but despite beer appearing on the dinner menu, there wasn't any. Check-in took a long time, and finding the room was difficult because the signs were poor. The pool isn't actually in the hotel. It's quite a walk through a derelict shopping plaza, it's open to the public, and there aren't any loungers.

I had a great time here on my second stay. Everything you need is in one building, and the staff looked after us so well. Special thanks to Michelle, one of the loveliest and most professional staff members I've met in a long time. Her English was great, she paid attention to details, and she always had a warm smile and attitude. I'd highly recommend the hotel. Thanks, and all the best.

I've been coming here for work for over 7 years, and the room quality is still a gamble. Sometimes the room is cold; other times it's like a sauna because the A/C is broken. Hot water has only worked for me a handful of times. When I asked to change rooms, they told me to wait for a technician. More than 30 minutes and two calls to reception later, nothing had happened, so I went to complain in person before anyone acted. The FnB staff are great, and the hotel's central city location is its one other positive.

The room was somewhat clean, but the shower wasn't very clean. The layout wasn't thought through, either. The bed gets in the way, and you could hurt yourself if you're not careful walking around the bedroom. The staff are nice, perhaps almost too nice. For a 4 stars hotel, I wouldn't recommend it.

This hotel offers comfortable stays at an affordable price, and its location makes it easy to get to Manado's popular attractions. The Lion Hotel & Plaza Manado is a real gem in the city. Highly recommend!
