Family-owned and surrounded by a pretty garden, this is such a cute, welcoming place. It's convenient for a stopover because of the airport, though I'd also stay to explore the surrounding area. The nearby cafe rounds it out nicely.

The airport is only a 15-minute walk away, which makes this a good spot for a few hours of sleep before a flight. We got a warm welcome, and the place was clean, quiet, and fairly well maintained. The room is basic but comfortable enough for a short stay, and the AC works well. One drawback was a strong cigarette smell when I walked in.

I was really pleased with the clean room and friendly service at PAS Residence, especially having a private bathroom. The owner is very caring, and there's a small garden and fish pond. You can get food and drinks without going out, with lots of choices at reasonable prices. That was especially handy when I was feeling unwell and didn't want to go anywhere. I won't regret staying here. Next time I'm in Manado, I'll stay again. It's about five minutes from Sam Ratulangi Airport.

The local food was a highlight for me. Before heading back to Yogyakarta, I had tinutuan with tofu and cakalang dabu-dabu for dinner, and it was delicious. Since they serve local specialties, you can eat Manado food right after arriving without having to search around. PAS Residence is affordable and well placed for Sam Ratulangi Airport, less than 10 minutes away. They also offer an airport shuttle for 50,000 Rupiah, which is handy if you need to get there quickly. I think this could become my regular place when I'm commuting.
