The standout for us was the balcony and its sea view, with Bali and Mt Agung in sight and sunrise appearing from the far left. After dark there isn't much to see beyond little lights from boats and fishermen. The room was clean, uncluttered, and practical, and the cliffside setting means the property runs down to the crashing sea and rocks rather than a walk-on beach. We were out most days, so breakfast was when we got to know the staff. There were lots of young trainees, all smiling, attentive, and keen to help. Breakfast came as varied set menus, and check-in and checkout were quick and painless. Getting around is mostly elevator-friendly, though about 20 steps lead to the lobby. If stairs are difficult, the hotel can send a buggy between the rooms and lobby, with a short wait. We stayed three nights to try a cliff hotel and would come back to enjoy the other facilities. Inshallah.

We only booked a single night at Jeeva Klui as a stop before the Gili Islands, and I wish we'd planned to stay longer. The hospitality was genuinely warm. The resort is modest in size, which gives it a quiet, intimate feel, and our huge, beautifully designed room sat naturally among the shady greenery. It stayed cool and relaxing throughout. The food was the best we ate in Lombok, from local dishes to Western ones, and breakfast was especially good. The experience reminded us of The Datai Langkawi, with a standard that came impressively close. We'd happily return and recommend it for a Lombok visit or a stop on the way to Gili Islands.

We spent our honeymoon here last summer. The staff were so kind and friendly, always ready to help, and the resort and its setting were beautiful. We loved the restaurant food, the spa, and the complimentary morning yoga. It felt like paradise.

I work in high-end accommodation, and the staff here still managed to exceed what I expect, every time. They made the stay for me. The place moves at such a slow pace that you can forget the rest of the world; we even asked reception about renting a bike and barely used it because we had little reason to leave. My room was roomy, the bed and pillows were comfortable, and the pool was large and amazingly clean. From the front porch daybeds, the ocean sounds make afternoon naps easy. The food was amazing too. I really can't say enough about how good the staff were.
