The Pine Forest Villas

There's no mobile signal, but the WiFi works amazingly well. We stayed in Villa Bawah for five people and paid 3.6 million IDR during the festive season, with an extra 250K per person. The access road was a bit challenging, though the destination was worth it. The service was great, and they could shop for groceries for us. The BBQ was mediocre and expensive, so don't prebook it.

We've stayed twice with our two Maltese dogs, and would definitely come back. It's a little haven in Puncak, great for getting away from Jakarta's crowded, polluted bustle. Keep in mind it's a 25-27 minute drive from the Mega Mendung/Raya Puncak main road, and far from the food area, so have lunch and dinner planned ahead. The staff are helpful and friendly. Breakfast is simple, nothing fancy, and there isn't a swimming pool, but there's a private river area with very pristine water. The new Family Cabin/Villa has four rooms, which could work well for a bigger family. The two Standard Forest View Cabins could use some upgrades soon to stay competitive and comfortable.

We spent two nights at the Pine Forest Villa, and it was a lovely break from staying home during the pandemic. The villa is close to Jakarta, cozy, relatively clean, and has a fully equipped kitchen. There's room for five or more with the sofa bed, or the glamping area nearby. We could hear the river and insects, and the service was pleasant. The BBQ was tasty. Nearby activities include a trail to a river or curug panjang waterfall, and they're building a mini zoo. It felt especially private and secluded during the pandemic, with only two cottages, and the staff were very polite and helpful. Some utensils and decorations look dated and need replacing, and the bedding could be more comfortable, but it was cozy enough for a short stay. Thank you Pine Forrest Villa!

The villa near Puncak is worth trying, whether for a weekend or a longer stay. It feels like hotel service, with breakfast, room service, and useful extras such as a barbecue and an extra bed for more guests. There's also a private waterfall area near the villas.
