The room price wasn’t cheap, and after booking through the app we were told to pay cash again. The guard said they hadn’t worked with Booking.com or similar apps for a long time. The bathroom, fan, and bed all looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years, and the place felt scary. Hopefully nobody else gets caught out like this. If you’re thinking of trying it, go and see it first, and don’t rely on one look. If it’s late and you’re stuck, you may not have much choice. Otherwise, I’d look somewhere else. Bye for now.

The room was roomy and cost 150,000 IDR for the night, with a TV and a fan. Everything else was good, though the bathroom could use basic things like soap.

There’s no lock on the door, the TV won’t switch on, and the bathroom doesn’t have a door either.

My husband got sick during the crossing to Jembrana when we were traveling from Java to Bali last Monday, so I looked for somewhere to stay. The app was really expensive, so we went straight to the hotel instead. I met the manager there, a kind, friendly man, and he offered rooms for 100 or 50. I picked the 50k room since we just needed something cheap where we could sleep. It was better than I expected for the price. There was air conditioning and a fan, though it was cold enough that I switched them both off. It’s a handy place to rest on the road, about three minutes from the main road. I’d recommend going there directly rather than booking through the app.
