Hayak Tamara Syariah Hotel

Best hotel, simply. The room felt roomy and comfortable, and everything was clean. There was a shower and hot water in the bathroom too.

We liked the atmosphere, but I’d be hesitant to return after the service problems. My room was downstairs, around the bend, and its AC leaked onto the terrace, leaving it wet. The AC also wasn’t cold enough. The hotel was full, so I couldn’t ask to move, and the problem wasn’t fixed. Staff seemed to just stand by without taking initiative. The room itself was clean and tidy, and the central location was a plus during our two-night stay. When I asked about breakfast for three at 5:30, they said they couldn’t provide it because there were no boxes. 😅 Most guests seemed to be workers rather than vacationers, so the hotel should plan for people on standby who leave for work at 6:00 and otherwise miss breakfast. Better risk management and customer service would help.

I liked the fresh air and relaxed feel here, and the cottage-style rooms suited me better than a standard hotel where everything is reached through the lobby. Breakfast is brought to each room instead of served buffet-style. The longest walk from the lobby is about 30 meters, so I’d need an umbrella in the rain. I was in Muara Teweh for work on August 25 and found Hayak Tamara online after the other hotels showed as full in the app. I’d jogged past earlier and the hotel looked full, though I’d seen only one car parked there. Inside, it looked grand, clean, and well kept, as if new or renovated, and the receptionist greeted me. I brought my suitcase to the lobby, then learned the room was accessed from the side. My main disappointment was seeing wooden bathroom doors in a hotel this luxurious.

The room had the basics covered: AC, hot water, TV, tea and coffee facilities with a kettle, a wardrobe, and toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were really helpful. The location is strategic, the facilities are good, and the service makes it worth the price. Recommended.
