Mendut Temple is just a short walk away, and the owners, Mr. and Mrs. Haji, were very friendly. It’s an affordable and comfortable place with a village feel. In the morning I could chat with neighbors while getting breakfast from the stall out front. The air was clean, and during my stay fog lingered until 8:30.

The owner was friendly, and it’s close to both Mendut Temple and the prayer room. The place felt very homey and comfortable, with a comfortable room and good facilities: a spring bed, AC, a clean bathroom, and hot water for drinking.

Roro Mendut Homestay worked perfectly for what I needed. After seeing relatives in Magelang, I carried on with my activities by offering breakfast to the monks/samanera at Mendut Monastery. I could also offer lunch to the ascetics practicing renunciation of worldly pleasures. Giving, doing good deeds, visiting ascetics, and discussing the Dhamma at the right time are among life's greatest blessings.
