For our group of eight, having a toilet and hot water heater in every room meant nobody had to wait for a turn. The bedding could use improvement, though. It worked well for us for a night or two.

I still made it up to see sunrise, thanks to finding an ojek after I got up on my own. The ride I'd arranged with the person who checked me in never came, and there was no wake-up call either. We'd agreed on a pickup between 3:30 and 4:00 am after talking through the price and departure time. I hadn't planned much before arriving in Bromo, and the hotels I would've preferred for my one night were either full or had only expensive rooms left, so I chose Udin's as the first available place near the crater. The bed was so-so and the room was otherwise unremarkable. The Udin experience was disappointing.

The sheet was clean enough for a homestay, and there was plenty of hot water. If you book here, make sure the door lock and power outlet work.
