For somewhere to rest and unwind on Nusa Penida, I wouldn't pick this place. I'm rating it one star because Google's 4.9 score gives a very misleading picture. To me, it felt more like a two- or three-star hotel. There were a few good things: the bungalow entrance had a nice view, the big bed was comfortable and the linens clean, the air conditioner worked reliably, and the hot water pressure stayed steady. But there was hardly anywhere to put clothes, little furniture, and several fittings were coming apart. The showerhead holder was too loose to hold it, and the curtain rod dropped to the floor when I lightly tried to close the curtain. The creatures were the biggest problem. On arrival, the room was full of giant mosquitoes. I turned on the mosquito repellent device, then woke up to ants in my bed, apparently falling from the ceiling because of the repellent. After two days, dead ants were scattered across the floor. When I asked staff to clean, they said they'd only do so after I checked out. They finally cleaned it after I showed them the floor. A tokay gecko (Tukkee) lived in the room throughout my three-day stay. I didn't mind personally, though others might not like that kind of roommate. There were roosters crowing right outside the wall at 5 a.m. every morning. As I tried to fall asleep around midnight, I kept hearing scratching or rustling on the roof. I couldn't tell if it was insects or the gecko running around. Sleeping and relaxing here was extremely uncomfortable. Avoid it.

The balcony has a lovely view, and the rooms are clean, well looked after, and cleaned daily. For the price, this is a super nice homestay. Staff were friendly and helped me when I got “Bali Belly,” which wasn't from the hostel food, and they let us check out late too. You do need motorbikes to get anywhere. If, like me, you enjoy riding, the location is actually better than most because the island is easy to reach from there. Otherwise, expect to take a cab to get dinner.

A peaceful atmosphere, a great view of the sea and distant mountains, and good internet made this a very enjoyable stay. The owner was kind and helpful. The air conditioning cooled the room nicely, and the water was nice and warm. You can walk to a few nearby places serving Indonesian food, and the location is central for getting quickly to most parts of the island.

The only real drawbacks were the bathroom, which sometimes smelled bad, and the need to rent a scooter. Without one, getting here would be really hard. Otherwise I had a lovely time. The place was clean and nice, and the woman there was kind and helpful with everything.

The owner is a wonderful, kind person, and the breakfast was amazing. The rooms are clean and nice, and the accommodation is well placed in the middle of the island. From the room, there's a really lovely view toward Bali and Mount Batur, which can look beautiful sometimes.
