The shower had only cold water and barely any flow. The rooms were noisy, and after two nights we still hadn't been given fresh towels. Staff didn't seem interested and couldn't speak English beyond “pay.” The pool was filthy and full of insects. When I asked to rent a scooter, they first gave me one with broken brakes, then still made me ride it to get another. The photos don't match reality, and the service wasn't great.

The bathroom was out of order, so I couldn't even shower properly, and the pool was dirty. It was far from the main area, tucked between the jungle, and walking at night felt unsafe because the street dogs were very aggressive. I could hear vehicles going past all night. The stay and location fell far short of what I expected, and it wasn't worth the money.

Billi and made were so friendly and helpful while we were there. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the location was great, about 5 minutes from some amazing restaurants and not too far from the ferry terminal. I'd definitely recommend golden hill cottage to anyone visiting Nusa penida.

Katuk went out of his way to make us feel welcome. He took us snorkeling and to Angels billabong and broken beach, drove us to a local market, and had dinner with us. The homestay is lovely, with very clean traditional Balinese rooms, comfy beds, AC, and a beautiful outdoor shower. It's set high on the hill, so there's a nice breeze, and the beach is a 5 minute walk away. I'd definitely recommend it.

Really nice owner and beautiful wooden bungalows with a sea view. The rooms were very clean and furnished beautifully. You can rent scooters if needed, and they can arrange a transfer from the harbour.
