Kaliu Kostel Pacitan

I spent two nights at kaliu. The owner and staff were so friendly and helpful, and my room was clean, cozy, and comfortable. It's in a handy spot near the beaches. Thanks for the hospitality 😘

Rooms are on the small side, but they're well kept and feel cozy. Service was adequate, though not outstanding. Kostel is a combination of “Kost,” an Indonesian term for a room rented long term, and “Hotel,” which fits the flexible stay options. You can book for days or weeks, or stay for months, at budget-friendly rates. It's especially suited to travelers watching their spending who still want a comfortable stay. This is a recently built boutique hotel with around 30 rooms, close to the bus station and traditional market. The regent's office and town square are only a few hundred meters away.

Having the main bus terminal right beside the hotel made getting around Java by bus so convenient. Even with a big bag, I could wheel it straight from my room to the station. The staff were the best part of the stay, ready to help with anything. I badly needed laundry, and my host arranged to have my clothes washed and pressed in under seven hours, which was impressive. The rooms were spotless and had everything I needed, including a nice bathroom, air conditioning, a desk and chair, TV, and a really comfortable bed. It's a brand new hotel, and every morning they brought a great cooked breakfast to my room. Kaliu Hotel/Kostel (Pacitan) was the best place I stayed on my trip from west to east across Java, Indonesia. I'll definitely stay at Hotel Kaliu again if I return to Pacitan.
