The common room is spacious and airy, and the beds were comfortable with clean white sheets. Marcus, the owner, was really helpful. It's easy to find, right beside a gas station, and only a short walk from the riverbanks. A good hostel in Padang city.

They even arranged a polite, welcoming driver to pick me up from the airport. The rooms and beds were clean, the bathroom was fine, and the hospitality and service were outstanding. A little hidden gem if you want an affordable good night's sleep near the Mentawai fast boat for the trip to the islands. I'd highly recommend it.

Marcus was incredibly kind and went out of his way to help me arrange treks to Kirinci volcano, motorcycle hire, good local food, and plenty more. I stayed two nights at Riverside Hostel this week and had a great time. It's comfortable, clean, and spacious, with a good chance to meet interesting solo travellers and plan trips. I can't recommend Riverside Hostel enough.

The whole hostel was really big and clean, and the interior was lovely. We spent four nights at the riverside Hostel, which was the best hostel of our whole trip. Perfect location too. The host was friendly and helpful every time. Next time we're in padang, we'll stay here again. Thank you Markus! :-))

You can get a good night's sleep here, and the place is clean. The staff are really kind and helpful, and there are plenty of cool restaurants nearby, along with some interesting Dutch buildings. Totally worth it 🤗
