The people running the place were so kind and ready to help, and the breakfast was free, which made it a great fit for backpackers. I loved the day trip they offer to green canyon. The scenery was beautiful, and they also brought us to a black sand beach and a mountain overlook. I highly recommend it.

Good value for a short stay, with breakfast, friendly staff, easy parking and ground floor rooms. It's a basic place, fine for a day or two. My room only had cold water, though I don't know if that's true of every room.

We joined a village dance performance, then went to their ‘party place’ and drank and sang late into the night. The tour also took us through villages to the great and green canyon, which I really recommend. Ocid, Kusnadi and the rest of the group were wonderful and made us feel welcome. The rooms had good air conditioning, too. A memorable experience worth the time and money.

The rooms were very clean and had AC, and the staff were really friendly. They also offer trips around the canyon and jungle. This is easily the best hotel in the area, and it seems to have about the only proper motorbike rental around.

Ahlen made getting around simple: they helped us rent motorbikes and refuel, and left fresh water bottles each day that we could refill. You can book tours to different places there, and they can arrange transport to your next stop as well. Ask for Ocid, he's a really helpful guide who can organize everything and make the stay much easier and less stressful. We had a lovely visit and the service was great.
