There are plenty of shops and street food nearby for a quick bite, and the staff are helpful. Hotel Bahagia is a good affordable place to stop for one night in PKN before heading on to Tanjung Puting national park. The rooms are spacious, but the shared bathrooms let things down, with little hot water and poor water pressure.

It's an ordinary place, not especially nice, though okay for the city. The bathroom isn't great: the shower doesn't work, there's no proper toilet, and there's no sink to brush your teeth or shave.
