Albis Hotel Ciwidey Bandung

The balcony looked out over rice fields, and my room was clean. Ciwidey’s cool weather meant I didn’t mind the lack of AC. Breakfast felt homemade, which makes sense for a two-star place. I got what I expected for a two-star hotel, and it works well as a stopover when exploring Ciwidey.

The breakfast came as an à la carte set with fried rice, some fried chicken, and an egg. The staff seemed pleasant, but didn’t seem able to do much beyond checking guests in. From the outside, the hotel looks nicely decorated, and the lobby is attractive. Things felt different after check-in. There’s no AC or fan, just an air cooler that wasn’t enough. The toilet drainage was poor and sometimes smelled foul, and the shower pressure was too weak for a proper shower. Wi-Fi was barely there, so bring a local SIM Card. Dirty or wet towels couldn’t be replaced until the next day. The room lighting was dim, and people smoked in the corridors and other rooms. The pool was dirty and basically unusable, and cleaning took ages. At 40 SGD a night, it didn’t feel like good value with all these downsides. Book at your own risk.

That lobby looks nice, but the owner needs to improve the hotel quickly if they want customers to keep using it. My room had no AC, only a portable air cooler, which was different from what the ag**a application listing mentioned. There was no water heater either. The room felt dated, the bathroom wasn’t clean to hotel standards, and the blanket smelled bad and didn’t seem clean. The pillow was thin and uncomfortable. In room number 7, rain caused water to leak in from outside. Please make some improvements. Travelers looking for a hotel in the Ciwidey area should check the rates and reviews in the application, and read the Google Maps reviews too.
