The room was comfortable, and the place was quiet.

I only meant to stay two nights, but ended up here for a week. It’s a beautiful, really quiet place. It’s a little way from the center, though getting around by motorcycle or with a motorcycle driver app worked well for me. I recommend it!

If you want to sleep with mosquitoes, lizards, and snakes, this is the place. When we arrived, there were so many mosquitoes in the room. Then I saw the huge gaps between the sliding doors. With the room lights on, the mosquitoes were drawn inside, and no matter how many we killed, more kept coming in. There wasn’t even a mosquito net. In a country where Dengue exists, I can’t see how this could be considered acceptable. I told the manager we couldn’t stay because we’d be eaten alive, and asked if another room was available. He said he could only offer one the next day. We obviously couldn’t spend even one night there with mosquitoes constantly coming in. I had to find another hotel and ask for a refund because the room wasn’t fit to stay in. At first, the manager said yes and told me to cancel on Booking.com, saying he’d return the money. But when we asked him to put that in writing so we could cancel, he wouldn’t. After several messages, he said that was just how it was, he could give us insecticide at most, and all the rooms had those gaps. Then they blamed Booking.com, saying they couldn’t do anything and that Booking.com had the money. Booking.com told me the hotel was responsible for refunding us. The hotel avoided responsibility and returned nothing. The room also wasn’t as big as it looked in the photos, and there were no robes. The garden and pool were small and looked awful, everything seemed old and dirty, and the room smelled musty with a filthy floor. It was the worst experience I’ve had. I still remember being out on the street at 12:30 a.m. with our bags, waiting for an Uber to another hotel, and the manager’s rude words when he refused our money and didn’t care whether the room was suitable for sleeping. The cheap price ended up costing us dearly.
