Sofwan was a real bright spot during our three days at Anantara Uluwatu. He was kind, thoughtful, quick to reply on WhatsApp, and there whenever we needed help. On our last day he surprised us with chocolates, a small gesture that meant a lot. I think he has the potential to become a great Sales or Marketing Manager as he grows with the company. Planning a proposal from Korea was a very different experience. I spent over USD 600 on the package, but communication with the Sales / F&B coordination team often felt unhelpful and unprofessional. Even water wasn't included and had to be bought separately. Then, just two hours before the event, they changed the backup restaurant location they'd previously described, which added stress to an important moment. At dinner, we were repeatedly encouraged to buy more wine, so it felt focused on sales instead of the guest. I traveled all the way from Korea for this occasion, and I hope management takes a close look at the team's coordination and attitude. Anantara is a beautiful resort with a lot of potential, but this experience didn't meet the standard I'd expect from a luxury brand.

The hotel is around a 10 minute walk from the main road, so we often called a car when we didn't feel like walking that far. Still, my husband and I had a great honeymoon stay at Anantara. The room had an impressive view, and the property is beautifully designed. Breakfast had lots of good choices, and we enjoyed the pool with drinks and food. Staff were helpful whenever we needed anything. My husband rented a surfboard from a local shop and used the hotel's beach access. Watch out for the reef, though, and wear reef shoes. We also loved the rooftop Teppanyaki dinner.

The infinity pool and the views are stunning, and the rooms are spacious with everything you need. Everyone on the team gave brilliant service, and the clean spa had a lovely massage. Breakfast was amazing too, with all kinds of options. We'd highly recommend Anantara and will be back.

The main disappointment was the New Year's dinner. We stayed two nights for the poolside restaurant celebration, which cost around $400, a lot for Bali. The restaurant seemed badly prepared for a special menu: portions were tiny, service was slow, and we heard other tables complain too. Hopefully they're better prepared next year. This was my second stay at an Anantara, and the rest of the experience was great. The room was huge, with a jacuzzi overlooking the Uluwatu coast, and the views were amazing. Service, rooftop breakfast, yoga, and the spa were all highlights. We'd still consider Anantara again.

We were meant to stay three nights at Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort, but left the same day because I couldn't get comfortable in the room. Two days later we returned to collect our luggage and completed checkout that evening. I never spent a night there. I booked through American Express and paid about $350 per night, and at that rate in Bali I expect a clean, updated, well-maintained room. At first the room seemed nice, but problems showed up once we settled in. The balcony door was partly broken and didn't work properly, the bathroom had a constant bad smell, and small biting bugs made it hard to relax or sleep. I understand ocean-side plumbing can be difficult, but at this price the smell shouldn't be inside the room. We also ate at the hotel restaurant and weren't happy with the food, especially with an automatic 22% service charge added. The dining experience didn't match what I expected from a property in this category.
