Tregge Surf Camp Uluwatu

The pool at Tregge sits among lovely nature, with birds, butterflies, and flowers all around, and the place felt very peaceful. Everyone on staff was so kind. The restaurant food was delicious, especially the Nasi Goreng, which I'd recommend.

The location worked perfectly for us, with Thomas beach and plenty of local cafes and restaurants an easy walk away. Rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff were genuinely friendly. We didn't get a chance to swim because of the weather, but the pool area looked lovely. The restaurant offered good value and nice background music, plus there was a very cute kitten hanging around. Laundry was 15k per kilo, which felt like a good deal. My only reason for taking off a star is the cold shower. I personally can't stand cold showers.

The place itself was okay, but the owner left a bad impression. When we politely asked to shower before our flight at the end of the stay, he said yes, then wanted us to pay for the shower and the electricity we'd used to charge our devices. I thought he was joking at first, but he wasn't. What an unpleasant, foolish guy.

The owners clearly look after the grounds, keeping the paths tidy and the gardens well maintained. The communal spaces are gorgeous, with a good-sized pool and lovely loungers and furniture. Each spacious bungalow has a terrace overlooking the gardens and comfortable beds, though the rooms themselves are basic. It's peaceful, yet only a five-minute walk over the bridge into the heart of uluwatu. Staff were super friendly, extended our stay, and rented us a decent bike. Great Balinese vibes all round.
