Ameera Hotel

Easy to get a Maxim or Grab from this location. The staff were all nice, and the service was good. For a 2-star hotel, the room was okay and breakfast was included, though it felt old and the bed wobbled a little. You can hear people walking and talking in the hallway since it isn’t soundproof. Smoke from other guests reached the hall from the cigar.

I stayed a few days ago after booking a business suite. That night was one of the worst of my life. At 3:30am I saw something really disturbing, and it bothered me until morning. Don’t stay at night if you’re alone, ada hantu.

Getting around from Ahmad Yani is easy, with the city center and several malls nearby. The room was clean and roomy enough for two, though the lighting made it feel rather dark. The hotel sits above a large shopping center, and its layout can feel like a maze. The restaurant was fine, but breakfast and room service didn't offer much choice.

Breakfast was the highlight, with plenty to choose from, including fried rice, Soto, and chocolate toast. It runs from 0700 to 1000. Central Plaza is right beside the hotel, handy for grocery shopping, though its only food outlet, CFC, is being replaced by a Bighen outlet, so food there is temporarily unavailable. I stayed twice, in rooms 301 and 206. Both bedsheets, as well as the extra bed, had grayish spots, and the AC leaked in room 301. Some corridor walls had visible cracks. At night the corridors feel like an abandoned building: dim, quiet, with jazz playing now and then. The clerks were nice enough, but the service wasn't remarkable. It's a decent place, just nothing special, so three stars from me.
