Grand Central Hotel Pekanbaru

The breakfast selection is broad, but the food tastes pretty basic. The hotel feels past its best days, with old-fashioned rooms and a shower that especially needs attention. The water looked brownish, and they hadn't topped up the soap or shampoo, so bring your own.

Nothing but fraud. Our agency suffered a hacker attack involving over 6000usd. They knew about the fraud and did nothing. It looked like they had carried out the fraud themselves, and they didn't answer any emails.

The food was good overall, though I didn't like the bread or cakes. Their texture wasn't fluffy like bread and cake usually are, so I guess those aren't their specialty. The omelets could use a standard procedure too, since the female chef's portions were smaller than the male chef's. Around the restaurant, some staff watched customers too much when they went back for more at the all-you-can-eat meal. Most staff were friendly, but I didn't get a friendly vibe from the receptionist like I did from the others, so that service could improve. The hotel is centrally located and has an infinity pool, gym, and bar area. Room rates are standard for a Pekanbaru hotel, and parking is very spacious. If you're staying with your own vehicle, tell reception, or you'll be charged by the hour like at a mall.

The staff were friendly, but didn't seem to know what they were doing. Grand Central feels like a hotel that was probably top notch a few years ago and hasn't been upgraded or properly cleaned since. The room had been cleaned, but there were still old, dirty spots that daily cleaning hadn't dealt with. The food was mediocre, and half the menu was sold out, including Coca Cola. For the price, the quality doesn't add up. I wouldn't choose it for a business trip. You can find much better accommodation and service for less.
