OYO 90897 Hotel Sepupu Satria

Really, really bad.

I had to guess where the place actually was because the address and location RedDoorz gave were unclear. Once I found it, the room smelled musty and was dirty, with a pile of trash inside. The photos on RedDoorz looked very nice, but the reality was terrible. I wasn’t even sure it was the hotel I was meant to be staying at.

The receptionist was fairly friendly, but the room was awful and expensive for its condition. I’d just arrived in Pekanbaru for the first time, and after the rain started at the airport I took a taxi. The driver initially said he’d take me to a five-star lodging, but brought me here instead. After paying for the room, I found out there was also a deposit. I was confused about why, then learned they would keep it as compensation if we damaged anything in the room, even though the items there were already broken. It was late, so I stayed anyway. For anyone flying in and looking for a place, check the lodging first if a taxi driver offers to take you somewhere. Don’t choose this just because it’s nearby. The driver may also be working with the lodging.

RedDoorz cheated me. I paid through RedDoorz, but when I got to the hotel they said they hadn’t received that payment. Very strange.
