The beach was wonderfully quiet, with a long stretch almost all to ourselves. We signed up for a surf lesson as total beginners, and Eddie was patient and knew how to teach. Even after plenty of wipeouts, we both caught our first waves by the end. I also enjoyed the vegan banana bread packed for me to eat on the way there. Lost Lindenberg sits in a lovely layered garden and jungle, which gives the treehouse-style rooms a tucked-away feel. My partner and I came for the plant-based food and loved it, especially the gyoza. Having communal dinner was a treat too. We got to know another couple travelling around Southeast Asia, and later happened to run into a wonderful family from the hotel in the streets of Ubud. The showers had lots of hot water, and the shampoo and body wash smelled great. The staff were warm and helpful throughout, including arranging a private car to Ubud when we couldn't find one through Grab. They sent us off with a generous snack box of banana bread and roasted peanuts. We felt well looked after and hope to return to Lindenberg Bali.

We hadn't been fans of tropical forests, but Lost Lindenberg changed our minds. It’s in a remote part of West Bali, and the trip there is well worth it. We spent three nights and loved the calm, open view when we first walked into the room. The design is simple and thoughtful, almost like staying in a piece of art. Service felt warm and easy, and we felt more like friends than guests.

The communal dinners made the place feel so warm, and the staff looked after us from start to finish. I loved the slow mornings, lovely high tea, golden sunsets and daily bonfire that brought everyone together so naturally. Our room felt like a luxurious little treehouse tucked into the jungle. It was spotless and cozy, and everything had a sustainable, mindful feel without giving up comfort or beauty. Staying at LOST Lindenberg was like finding a hidden sanctuary in nature. It’s more of a feeling than just a hotel, the kind of place you’re already dreaming of returning to before you leave.

The communal dinners brought guests together for great conversations, and one favourite moment for me was a small Balinese ceremony with Ratni, who shared more about local culture and traditions. Later, having drinks around a little beach fire as the sun went down felt calm and special. There are different activities on site, too. Lost Lindenberg is tucked in the jungle beside a quiet black sand beach, with only eight rooms. It feels intimate, and there are thoughtful little details everywhere that kept making us smile. Our room was cozy and beautifully designed, and the team was attentive and welcoming from the start. I had lovely conversations with almost everyone on staff. The plant-based meals were another highlight and kept exceeding our expectations, even for the meat eaters in our group. My friends and I had an unforgettable stay. It was a chance to slow down, recharge, meet people and try new things. As someone who loves discovering unusual places to stay, I was pleasantly surprised and hope to return soon.

I was unsure at first about travelling alone with my two-year-old daughter, but everything worked out perfectly. The staff felt like one big family, and we liked it so much that we added more time to our stay. From the people and service to the food and design, the whole place was phenomenal. It was warm and homely, with a breath-of-fresh-air feeling in a secluded spot.
