We had a spacious, very clean room with a big balcony looking out at the beach. It was well equipped, including a fridge, quality bedding and a very comfortable king-size bed. The air conditioning was great for cooling the room when we arrived; after that, the modern ceiling fan was all we needed, especially overnight. The hosts were great, and it was good value. The surf beach is a short walk away, though you’ll need transport to get dinner from the nearby warungs, about 1 km away.

The hosts, Richard and Elis, made our stay so enjoyable, and we can’t wait to return. Medewi Beach View Villa was perfect for surfing and relaxing, with super hosts and a super clean, large room. The decor, bed, sheets and towels were high quality. From the private balcony, we had lovely ocean and rice field views, with mountains behind us. It’s a five-minute walk to an uncrowded classic beach. There are lots of places nearby for local Indo and Western food, and delivery is also an option. Five stars for everything.

I stayed for a week and found the room very clean, with almost everything you could ask for. The host was lovely, flexible and helpful, and the balcony has a great view. A hidden gem in West Bali for anyone looking for peace of mind and wanting to discover another side of Bali.

Richard and Elis were so kind and helped with every request I had, from scooter rental and laundry to surf coaches and vegetarian restaurants. I felt so warmly welcomed that by the end I didn't want to leave. I came to surf, and the surf spot is nearby. I've been travelling in Bali for three months, and this has been my favourite place so far. The condition and cleanliness were really perfect. I read some reviews from people annoyed by the mosque that you can hear during prayer time. Yes, there is a mosque and you can hear it, but there are mosques all over this area, so I'm pretty sure you'd have this “problem” everywhere. If I come back, I'd definitely stay at this beautiful place again.
