Puri Dajuma Villas

The grounds were stunning, with so much care and variety in every corner, like a little jungle paradise. We had an amazing stay, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The food was among the best we had during four weeks around Bali, and the price felt fair and not inflated. The free rides to the main street in the little town or to Medewi beach, which is for surfing and has no sand, were a great service. We used them every day to surf, and the return pickup was included too. Nothing to complain about. Of the hotels we visited in Bali during those four weeks, this was our favorite. Highly recommended and reasonably priced.

Both Puri Dajuma branches offer good value for what you get, and the staff are well trained. I’ve stayed at a lot of Bali resorts, and their service and food feel really well thought out. The gardens are lovely and well kept, and it looks like the beach gets cleaned often. They provide free transport around Medewi, which is a big plus since it’s a bit off the beaten path. We needed a dog-friendly place, and our dog enjoyed it too. There’s also a lovely Bali dog roaming around the property. The one thing I’d improve is the AC. With the high ceiling, it didn’t feel cold enough. I’d stay again if we visit Medewi.

The sound of the ocean right outside made this a perfect place to unwind, and the local village is close if you feel like leaving the relaxing pools. I spent six nights at Puri dajuma, my first visit to this part of Bali, and wondered on the way whether the trip would be worth it. It absolutely was. Everyone, from reception and the restaurant to gardening and housekeeping, greeted us warmly and offered help. We enjoyed a jungle tour, seeing rubber sap tapped from a tree, smelling the coffee flowers, picking wild herbs and spices, then stopping at a local warung for a delicious lunch. On another outing, we walked with rare pink buffulo as they were taken to swim in the river. We also sat in a rice feild, drank coconut and learned about planting and harvest. It was all very chill and enjoyable. I definitely plan to return. It felt special.

The staff were so thoughtful when we arrived: they’d arranged “happy anniversary” on our bed with leaves and petals, a lovely touch we’ll remember. Puri Dajuma was our last stop after travelling around Southeast Asia for our 1-year anniversary, and we loved it. Our cottage-style house felt private among the beautifully kept gardens, the room and bathroom were exceptional, and both pools were great. We’ll miss falling asleep to the ocean each night. My wife got sunstroke on our second day, but she said that if there were any good place to be ill, this was it. The staff were kind, attentive and always checking we were okay. Thanks for making the end of our trip so memorable.
