Covehill Green Resort

We came to unwind with friends and found a really great place for it. The owners were there during our stay, and I was lucky to meet them. They were among the best hosts I've had. The staff were great as well, and having lots of pets around made the place feel cozy. Other guests brought pets too, which made our trip even better, though it's fine if pets aren't your thing. The water sometimes ran very slowly. When I raised it, the staff explained that the place is on a mountain and the supply can be unstable. Aside from that, we loved it. It's also near Jakarta, and I'd happily stay again when I return to Indonesia. I'd recommend it.

Getting there was a struggle. We had trouble finding the property because there wasn't clear signage, and the road was dark and rainy when we arrived. The drive from Jakarta was long and strenuous, and we unknowingly took the difficult, winding route through Cikidang. Better lighting and signs along the way would help, and it would be useful to include safer or better route directions when people book. Kang Yandi was friendly and very helpful with our car, and he gave us green stinky beans. Thank you, Kang 🙏. We stayed two days over a long weekend and used the place to explore Palabuhan Ratu and Ciletuh Geopark. Our room was down near the pool, with a balcony facing the local forest and ocean, plus a semi-outdoor bathroom. There are stairs to reach it, so it isn't accessible ♿️❌. The room was small but fine for two, and I think one extra bed could fit. Family rooms in the main building are larger and cost more. The bed was comfortable and supported my back well, and pillows and a blanket were provided. The balcony is wide open without safety rails; families with kids should be careful. Some of the wood looked weathered and unsafe, so we didn't spend much time out there. The pool is large and lovely, an infinity pool looking over the greenery. There's a shared room with books and magazines, plus a tennis court and dumbbells for exercise. We didn't book breakfast, so can't comment on it. There was a TV, but it relies heavily on Wi-Fi. It didn't work on our first night, then improved the next day, when we could watch Netflix using our own account. They supplied a pitcher of water, two glasses, a kettle, body wash, shampoo, and towels. There was no free tea or coffee in the room, but those were available in the common dining area by the pool. No safe, slippers, toothbrush, or toothpaste. Since the bathroom is partly outdoors, expect to see insects, especially in the morning. Hot water is available, but takes a bit of figuring out, and after someone showers we had to wait for the small tank to heat more water. There were lots of dogs and cats. The dogs were well behaved and the cats were cute. We saw the pitbull at the staff house, but felt safe around it.

We wanted to get away from the busy city, and we're glad we chose this place. Some older reviews from months back had made us hesitate, but the property has clearly had renovations and repairs. Everything felt much better maintained, and we could see the effort they'd put into improving it. We had a great stay and would love to return.

That sunset was amazinggg! We were really glad we came and enjoyed our stay a lot.
