Krisna Homestay

We came for a week and somehow stayed for two months. It was cozy, comfortable, and very clean. Breakfast each morning came with a lovely garden view, and the warm shower had a view of the moon and all those stars. Kadek and his family were wonderful to spend time with. They were always up for a chat, helped us learn Bahasa Indonesia, and shared so much about Balinese culture. We felt we got to experience the essence of Bali and really didn't want to leave. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for great value and a lovely stay.

On clear mornings, the huge mountain view was what impressed us most. We woke to birds and roosters every day. The homestay sits in the middle of a village, among farms, but the beach, restaurants, eating stalls, and tasty cheap street food are all a 15 minute walk away. We stayed for a week through scorching weather and afternoon rain, and I also had to work online. The room was big enough and very clean, and we could sit on the terrace looking out at the beautifully groomed garden. It felt simple, homey, and beautiful.

I've stayed three times now and still didn't want to leave. Kadek is gracious and makes requests and arrangements easy. It's a personal stay with lovely Balinese hospitality. The gardens are gorgeous, manicured, and peaceful, with lots of spots for yoga, and it feels like home. The walk to Dimpil is a lovely 10 minutes for dinner on the beach with your toes in the sand. Visit the nearby temple too. This is a wonderful, high quality homestay with very clean rooms, the best I've stayed in over 26 years of traveling in Indonesia. I recommend staying here over the big hotels.

The only thing I'd change is the comforter, which was too thin. With the AC blowing right on me, I had to turn it off in the middle of the night. Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable, and the place was quiet. Definitely worth staying.
