The Spa was the reason I kept coming back. I visited almost every day, and the treatments from Komang Dewi and Kadek Era were precise and skilled. They seemed to find the tension in my body easily and help release it, leaving me relaxed and feeling deeply healed. Komang Jro, the Head Spa, was an outstanding Agung dance performer and understands the body and energy so well. Her warm smile made it easy to feel open and comfortable. I've been to Taman Sari Bali Resort & Spa in northwest Bali twice. The peaceful, thoughtfully designed place has a tasteful vintage feel, and the white sand beach is good for diving. It's not a standard beach resort, more somewhere to rest your body and mind. The restaurant food was delicious and the staff were genuinely friendly. For me, Taman Sari is a place to enjoy a worthwhile Spa experience every day, as well as a beach holiday.

We had a lovely view right outside our beach front bungalow, and the king bed was huge and really comfortable. The beach is great, and the pools and day spa are nice too. Breakfast, which was included, was pretty good. The restaurant was just okay, though we found better food at the local places nearby. The one ongoing nuisance was the mosquitoes. They kept showing up in the room even though we sprayed constantly. Pemuteran itself is beautiful and quiet, and I'd recommend using this resort as a base for a visit.

The bar has a nice feel, and my fresh coconut was great. We stopped by in the rainy low season, so the beach wasn't at its best. The staff were kind and friendly, though. I'd come back for another coconut.

We liked the Studio Room even more than the Lotus Suite after extending our stay by two nights. It was smaller and had no bathtub, but felt cozier for our little family, me, my husband and our toddler. We had originally booked just two nights for a diving trip to Menjangan Island, and it was my first stay in West Bali. The hotel's atmosphere won me over, so we stayed on. You can walk straight out to the beach, and there are lots of fish to see snorkeling right in front. The water is calm in the morning, which felt safe for snorkeling, and the sea and mountain scenery together are beautiful. The suite furniture was a little old, but had an authentic Bali style and its own character, quite unlike the more modern places in South Bali. Breakfast was the one small drawback: limited choices, ordered from a menu, with no buffet. Still, it's a lovely place for a quieter, more authentic side of Bali, and I'd definitely return.

We enjoyed the setting, with the hills, sea and fishing boats, and the gardens are kept beautifully by a team of gardeners. The room, grounds and facilities were excellent value for money during our off-peak stay at the start of rainy season. We liked it enough to add a night. The Lotus Suite was worth the extra cost, a little oasis with one of just three suites, a good-sized private pool and lounge area, a comfortable bed, a large outdoor bathroom, plus a kitchen and water station. Breakfast by the beach was very good, but dinner disappointed us. The duck dish was mostly bones with very little meat, so we went to the very good local restaurants about a five-minute walk away. There were lots of activities on offer, and all the staff were friendly. Rainy season had brought plenty of litter, including plastic bottles, onto the beach. For a hotel of this standard, I expected the beach to be cleaned every morning without fail. It was eventually cleaned during our stay.
