Nova Guest House

When my landlord forgot to turn the electricity on, I was left completely in the dark in the middle of the night. The kindest host let me stay in one of their rooms so I could rest, and didn’t ask for payment right away. I paid in the morning as I was leaving. It’s worth the price. The AC works and it’s quiet at night. Nothing special, but I’m very thankful!

The rooms are cute, clean, and basic, so don’t expect a five-star hotel like some of the comments below suggest. What matters most to me is they don’t smell of mold, unlike literally every other hotel room I’ve seen in Canggu/Perenenan in the 20-50 USD range. If that’s important to you, check out Nova!

Everything was very clean, and the staff helped me with whatever I needed. The rooms are in a central spot, close to lots of nice cafes, and the service is amazing.

I have five more days here and I’m desperate. This is my worst stay in Bali. There’s a drum school or something right in front of the guest house, so expect to hear a drum band rehearsing in the evening. There’s no chance of a comfortable evening. The rooms also look smaller and cheaper in person than they do in the pictures. Then, on my second day, I found a stained needle in my bed.
