Hotel Grand Situ Buleud

Grand Situ Buleud Hotel is right in downtown, which made it easy to get around and see the city's attractions. Nearby night markets and street food stalls bring plenty of activity on weekends. The staff and receptionists were friendly and accommodating, and the toilet and water were clean enough. There's also a gazebo and prayer room for Muslim guests. My deluxe double room didn't feel worth what I paid. The cupboard and other furniture looked old, and the gazebo mats were worn and weathered. The swimming pool was closed during my weekend visit, which was disappointing.

The staff were helpful, the location was strategic, and the rooms were spacious. Still, spending a night here with my family was a terrible experience. At 1 a.m., a very loud sound in my room sent me rushing out, like a fire alarm. Staff couldn't identify it at first and offered another room, but then found it was coming from the washbasin tap and fixed it. The noise started up again at 4 a.m. The water was very dirty. After I complained, staff said they were cleaning the water tank and let the water run for about 15 minutes until it was no longer dirty. The AC was old and very noisy, and the duvet and linen were old. The linen was thin and yellowish. There were termites in the door frame, and the weak Wi-Fi was hardly usable in the room.

We stayed because we got into Purwakarta too late to choose somewhere else. If you have other options, you may want to skip this hotel. The room was dirty, with too much dust on the floor and in the cupboard, and it was noisy because it's so close to the main road. The staff were hospitable, though.

There weren't many power outlets, so we could charge only one device at a time. The bathroom was a bit dirty, the food was too salty, and the hotel and bathroom hygiene both need improvement.
