Hoky Homestay Amed

The people working here are so nice and welcoming, and the prices aren’t high. I’ve already been three times because I really love the fresh, yummy fish they make. When I’m in Amed and thinking about where to eat, this restaurant is the first place that comes to mind. I’ll be back again.

The whole grilled mahi-mahi with vegetables and potato salad or rice costs “only” 150k, and it’s the best grilled fish in Amed. We first came for dinner on our arrival day, hungry and ready to eat, and the huge fish was cooked just right, neither dry nor raw. We tried a few other Warungs afterward, but their quality and portions didn’t come close, so we ordered the whole fish here four more times. The fisherman who runs it cooks the fish he catches in the morning. This afternoon we went fishing with him and caught a lovely “sneapper,” almost 1,5 kgs, which they’re going to cook for us tonight. If you like fish, you really have to try this place!

My whole family enjoyed the food, and we’ll definitely come back. The fish curry was so good I had it twice today 🤣, and the grilled mahi mahi was tasty too. Prices are really good. Highly recommend.

A friendly restaurant run by a fisherman’s family. We had fresh fish in banana leaf and fish tar tar for dinner, both delicious. It’s gluten free, just make sure you talk with Valerie at the dive shop next door so they can translate for you. Highly recommend it 😋😋😋😋
