Kembali Beach Bungalows

Matthjis and the team made us feel at home right away and took care of what we needed without making a fuss. This is a small, beautiful, cozy hotel right beside one of Amed’s best snorkeling and dive sites. Breakfast overlooking the ocean was great. I absolutely recommend staying here!

Kembali’s in-house massage is worth trying. Massages and food in Amed generally cost less than in Ubud, and there are restaurants nearby. We enjoyed Rinba cafe, Small Time Cooks, and Warung Bobo. Warung Chez Made is tiny, with fantastic food and drinks at a good price. I only wish we’d found it sooner. This is a beautiful boutique hotel on Amed beach, with great snorkeling right out front. Bungalows 1-4 are oceanfront; 5 and 6 are behind the lovely pool, with views of both the pool and ocean; 7 and 8 are farther back but still have some sea views. We stayed in 3 and 5 and liked both. For a family with younger kids, I think 5 and 6 would work well. Breakfast on site was very good. We loved our stay at Kembali and can’t wait to visit again.

We stayed at Kembali Beach Bungalows for six nights in August/September, and this was our second visit. We were just as pleased as the first time. The owner was very helpful, the staff were excellent, and breakfast was great. It’s right on the beach, with lovely sunsets over Agung. I didn’t spot any turtles, but my partner saw several while snorkeling in front of the bungalows. No negatives for us. We’ll be back.

There are just eight bungalows here, cozy and thoughtfully set up with what you need for a relaxing stay. Waking to the waves and walking straight onto the clean beach felt like a dream. The property is beautifully kept, with lush gardens and a peaceful, restorative feel. The staff were the real highlight: welcoming, friendly, and always happy to help us feel at home, whether with local suggestions, arranging activities, or simply a smile. We were traveling with our little son, who was 8 months old at the time, and he had a blast. Our October 2024 stay was so good that we booked another one for December 2024 right away. This charming beachside hotel in Amed was warm, clean, and well organized from the moment we arrived. A wonderful little place for a beach retreat.
