The staff were wonderful, such lovely girls, and very friendly and happy to help with any questions. We stayed three nights in a double room. There are a few accommodation types on the property, including proper buildings, but we were in what I'd call a wooden cabin or hut. The room was nice, with working AC and a mosquito net around the bed that seemed to do the job. The outdoor bathroom was cute and quirky, if you can ignore a few little beasties. The location worked really well for us: it's a short walk to the beach and a handful of nice restaurants, and not too far on foot from town and a supermarket. The road beside Soka Amed is quiet, which was great for learning to ride a moped. The one downside, which isn't really the owners' fault, is the neighbour's chickens and rooster. That rooster loves to cluck at all hours of the morning, so I'd recommend headphones. Apart from that, we couldn't fault the place and would definitely recommend it.

The staff were attentive to everything we needed from morning to evening, and communication was easy thanks to the owner's and ladies' very good English. The bungalows are pretty, set in a quiet garden, and have spacious rooms with an amazing bathroom and hot shower. There's stable, fast WiFi and plenty of services available, including tours, laundry, scooter rentals, and more. All in all, it feels like a little piece of paradise. If you go to Amed, stop here, you won't be disappointed! Thank you very much Wayan and lanaging team. 🙏🙏🙏

After a hard day climbing on our Bali cycling loop, arriving at Soka Amed Resort felt like exactly what we needed. This was our second stop on the trip, and Wayan was still waiting patiently when we got in late. He welcomed us, helped us settle, and even went out to find a few light snacks for two tired, hungry cyclists. The place is peaceful and close to the beach. Our room was clean and cozy, and the open-air shower felt great after riding all day. In the morning we had a hearty breakfast on the veranda in a lovely breeze, looking toward the beach. The morning staff had made it fresh and served it with real warmth. We also loved waking up to the nearby sound of the ocean. Thanks to Wayan and the team for making us feel at home. It was a perfect place to rest before the next leg, and I’d recommend it to cyclists and anyone wanting a quiet, friendly stay.

The garden is pleasant, it’s quiet, and the two women on staff were genuinely warm and lovely. Those were the only positives for me, though. I’m used to basic, “roots” travel and can handle things like ants or inconsistent hot and cold water, but there’s a serious hot-water problem here that could be dangerous, especially for children. Ants moved into my backpack despite there being no food in it, and termites damaged clothes I’d left in the storage area. The place is getting old and, for this price, I expected the owner to maintain it better. I was surprised it was as bad as the negative reviews on Google.maps, Booking.com and Agoda had suggested. I found it very expensive for what it is, and you can get better options nearby for the same money if you’re looking for a good atmosphere and not to feel like a walking dollar sign. That’s just how it felt to me. Kind people are priceless. After meeting the boss, I decided right away to leave because I didn’t connect with that energy. The conversation we had later confirmed my decision to write this, since others looking for similar things might find it useful, though everyone is different. There’s no pool, despite the website showing one, and new buildings now block the beach view. Please enjoy one of the beautiful places nearby and meet the warmhearted Indonesian people who make this country special. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but I felt I should explain my experience.

I booked the larger room beside reception and stayed a week, extending three times. It was roomy, comfortable, clean, and had a nice open-air bathroom. The spot is quiet and just seconds from the beach. Wayan and the team were easy to deal with and quickly arranged a taxi, scooter, and snorkeling gear for me. Amed is beautiful!
