Tradisi Beach Front Villas

The lighting was the one big drawback. Bright white bulbs made the evenings feel harsh, and there were no bedside lamps or tables, so keeping the lights on made things VERY bright. Still, the place was spotless and cared for every day, breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. Its position between Jemeluk and Amed also meant very little road noise, which is hard to find in Amed. I'd happily return if they changed the bulbs.

Amed beach is wonderful for snorkelling, but we had clumsy service during our stay, though maybe we were just unlucky. The hotel costs more than average for the area, yet the bathroom design was poor and there was only one working socket, by the room door. Amenities were limited, with no kettle or TV, and some things listed on the booking app weren't there. Breakfast was very modest.

We booked our own boat ride in advance and brought our own snorkelling gear, though arranging a boat and renting equipment is easy nearby. We snorkelled at three different spots and loved it. There are lots of choices for lunch and dinner just a short walk away. The villa's wooden deck sits right by the beach, where women and children sell bracelets, necklaces, sarungs and other small things. I enjoyed chatting with one of the women and adding to my bracelet collection. From our room the views were beautiful, and it had all the Bali feeling. We spent two nights here with a friend and absolutely loved it. The staff were kind, welcoming and helpful, and everything worked well in the room: hot water, AC, fan and a very cold fridge. The lighting was dim, which I liked, and the sheets, floor and furniture were clean. I also liked the breakfast choices.

There are lots of good places nearby for lunch, dinner or a beer, and Amed has plenty to offer if you dive or snorkel. The staff were great, and being able to have breakfast in the restaurant was a big plus for me. The bedrooms are lovely, though the bathrooms could use some attention. That wouldn't put me off this fantastic location.
